Bowling!

Well, it was another eventful night at the ol’ bowling alley tonight with friends Bill, Sarah, and Arzhang. Although it wasn’t at the normal bowling alley… Oh no, Nampa bowl is out of our reach now, as it is guarded by an increasingly grumpy woman with HUGE LEGS. It would be certain maiming if not death to challenge those tree trunks. When my huband and I arrived at Nampa bowl, we had barely reached the counter when the aforementioned Goliath-legged female turned around, glared at us, and announced self-importantly: “We have no lanes tonight” with absolutely no hint of apology or even a civil greeting. I don’t think she likes us. Bee-atch.

So, we progressed northwest to Caldwell Bowl, where every night is dollar night (at least until this Saturday) and the customer service is greatly improved. Of course, the lanes are evil, but at least they let us use them. And, wonders of wonders, when our lane broke down (only happened once, a miracle in itself) the Pin Monkey sprinted back to fix it without us even having to ask. Mind-boggling! It almost made up for a rather dismal showing on the bowling performance front… We all had some good moments and rather a lot more frustrating ones. I swear the damn pins are heavier or stickier or just plain eviller (it’s a word, I swear) than the ones at Nampa Bowl. We shall persevere until next week, and hope we can sneak by the defenses at Nampa Bowl, where they have normal lanes and balls. Hmm.. perhaps disguises might be in order…
