It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday!

Happy Birthday to Me! I am now positively ancient, having reached the ripe old age of 22. For some reason this feels a lot older than 21, even though a person’s 21st birthday is supposed to be so significant. Perhaps it’s because I’m moving towards the middle years of my 20’s. In any case, Yay for birthdays! I have the day off, which is certainly fortuitous. I believe that I shall spend lots of time reading and watching TV, and since it seems to have cooled off quite a bit outside after the last few days’ heat, perhaps I’ll even go for a run. Or a brisk walk. Hard to know beforehand.

On this anniversary of my birth, I am grateful first of all to my parents who had the wisdom to give me life and then do a marvelous job raising me, ensuring that I didn’t end up too screwed up. I am also grateful for all the other wonderful things that have happened to me, such as:

*Meeting and falling in love with MP, most wonderful husband, friend, and co-cat servant, who makes me laugh and feel loved
*Having good health and (mostly) sound mind. Those are things I rarely think about but it would suck if they were gone.
*My family and friends, which includes many many people across this earth!
*My cat Bonsai, cat princess extraordinaire
*Chocolate
*Being tall. I’d hate to be short.
*The petunias and other plants growing with great abandonement on my patio
*Being able to read, and having lots of great books to read (yay for public libraries!)
*Having my birthday in the summer. I’ve celebrated so many great birthdays by having picnics by the lake, with huckleberries on top of my cake
*Baklava
*Ice cream
*More chocolate..

Ok, must be time for breakfast. There are lots of other things for which I’m grateful, but for now, FOOD!
