A new job!

Yay! I got a job! After two weeks of job searching, filling out applications, going to to interviews (ok, I only had two of those) I have been offered a job, which I accepted. I shall be working as a Behavioral Therapist for Partnerships for Inclusion (www.parntershipsforinclusion.com). I’m going to be working with children with autism using intensive behavioral intervention to help them learn social and play skills that will hopefully allow them to function fairly normally in society and in public school. I’m starting tomorrow, with a 40 hour class so I can learn how to do this. Then I’ll start actual training on the job, which I’m nervous about but also excited. New jobs are always stressful for me to start with because I tend to feel like I don’ t know anything, but then I get to feel good about myself again once I have things pretty well figured out. The organization sounds wonderful, though, and the work will be rewarding. Plus, I only work 8-5 M-F, which is fabulous because I hate working weekends and evenings. They also said that they work really hard to keep things fun with a lot of job variety so their counselors don’t get burnt out. Now I just need to dig out all my psych books and see if I remember anything!
