Long Time No Blog

I AM alive, believe it or not. I have been super busy and essentially internet-less, but now that Mike and I have high speed cable internet and things have calmed down a bit, I’m getting my rear in gear as far as blogging goes. So - quick update about what I’ve been up to:

- We moved to a rental house in Bayview that we really like, although we think there’s a leak in the bathroom somewhere… the bathroom, btw, is carpeted… honestly, who carpets a bathroom? On the plus side, the house has a view of trees and some of the lake, and a huge lovely deck, and now I only have to drive half an hour to work instead of 45 minutes

- My job is going really well; I’m starting to work with another boy this week so I’m busier but have more job variety now. I’m learning a lot and feeling a little more confident now, and less “ack, I have no idea what I’m doing”. Everyone I work with is great, and I’m feeling rewarded and challenged.

- Bonsai is still cuter than heck, but is having issues with this cat that likes to sit outside our sliding glass door and stare at her - she tries to attack it through the door. Sigh..

- I went to Nelson, BC (in Canada for the geographically challenged…) last weekend with my mom. We stayed in a really cool hostel, walked around a lot looking at historic buildings (her idea) and neat shops (my idea). I bought a super cool red wool hat. Then we soaked for a few hours at Ainsworth hotsprings, took a ferry across a big ass lake, and bought lots of Canadian candy bars. They have much cooler candy bars up there than down here.
