Anyway…
So it has, of course, been awhile since my last post, due to the usual excuses. Here’s a quick update for anyone who’s been wondering if i’ve fallen asleep for the last two weeks, or perhaps moved to Canada, or maybe been discovered by some hot shot movie director who flew me to Hollywood so I could become the next Natalie Portman (who was discovered while working as a waitress). Anyway…
~I passed my certification test so I now have my provisional certification as an Intensive Behavior Intervention therapist (or IBI therapist for short). This means that I make twice as much money now, yay! which meant that we qualified for a construction loan, yay! so we got to buy the lot we wanted and will soon start getting our house built, yay! This whole landownership thing is really cool… yesterday we and our families were clearing the lot (which resembled a jungle and needed to resemble something we could build a house on) and even though I was doing itchy, hard physical labor (dragging brush and stacking firewood etc) I really enjoyed it, because it’s our land!! It’s really neat but kind of overwhelming too. Sometimes I feel like a child playing dress up in Adultland, hoping that I won’t mess up or be found out. Although I think I’m realizing that “real” adults (like our parents) once knew less that we do about this whole adult thing, and sometime still don’t know what they’re doing but are really good at appearing that they do.
~It’s still springtime and even more so than my last post, which makes me very very happy. I missed North Idaho springs for the last five years except for coming up sometimes at spring break, and can’t wait for summer, which I missed entirely last year :(. It’s been about 70 degrees and sunny/spring stormy lately. I’ve been making good use of the sunroof in my car!
~Ampersand is about fully grown in height now, and oh so cute. He was adorable as a puppy, but I actually enjoy him more now, because his personality is more formed and he’s better trained…. especially since Mike decided that he needed to learn how to heel, which is an improvement over what I was letting Ampers do, which was run around sniffing stuff and chasing robins. Although I still let him do that sometimes :).
~Bonsai is still adorable and feisty, and seems to have adjusted to Ampersand being here, because now when he comes inside they sniff noses and sometimes he even licks her and she lets him! Well, for only a minute, before she swats him and runs around the room so he can chase her. It’s nice when your kids get along.
That’s it for now! Off to take Ampers for a nice long walk in the sunshine. This serves the dual purpose of exersizing the puppy and giving me an excuse not to do the dishes.
