sigh….

I haven’t blogged in a while for the usual reasons, but for last two weeks it’s been because I’ve been sick and haven’t felt like it. Bleh. I got the flu two weeks ago over the weekend, and was able to go to work all the following week. Massive head congestion spurred me to do something never before done in my world - buy cold and sinus medication and use it for a week straight. That helped a bit, and I thought I was getting better when…. my congestion turns into a sinus infection. Yuck. I fought the green monster for another week and was on the mend (thanks mostly to lotion tissue and Jamba juice with immunity boost) when I finally got too tired to work and function and fight it anymore. so I went to the doctor and got some nice ol’ ammoxicillin and it’s already kicking the nasty germies’ asses. In general I’m against using lots of chemicals and drugs and especially antibiotics, but I think after two weeks of being tired, stuffy, and in general a horribly boring and demanding wife (Miiiiike…. *cough* *cough* could you please make me some tea? and some rice? and bring me another blanket? and do the dishes? etc…) because after working all day it was all I could do to drive home and lay on the couch, it’s ok to turn to the druggies as a last resort.

Plus, I haven’t been able to smell or taste anything for the last week or so, and it SUCKS. especially when all the damn lilacs are in bloom, and everyone is walking around saying “oh my, i can smell those lilacs from here that are half a block away! how amazing! cassie, can you smell the lilacs???” ARG! that’s it, gimme the drugs.

On the plus side, when you can’t taste anything, food is really unappealing, so I’ve lost a bit a weight without even meaning too. Not a bad diet strategy- can’t taste your food, you’re guaranteed to not want to eat as much. The ultimate appetite supressant.

Most everything else in life is good. Mike got a fancy ass new computer that I’m having to figure out, but overall I think I can handle it. the hardest thing for me, since most computery stuff is over my head anyway, is getting used to the different keyboard, since we used to have a “natural” keyboard that took me 2 years to get used to anyway. Ah well. I shall endure.

Time to take the neglected puppy for a walk.
