I Like Grass

Anyone remember the pictures of the gravel yard we had all winter? Here’s a sample pic, taken while our house was under construction. The house is done, but for six months the yard still looked like this. But muddier.

After we spent 5 days of manual labor and tons of money we had planted a lawn. About a week later this is what it looked like. If it stops raining I’ll take another picture. The grass is about 2 inches high now, and filling in.

We spend last weekend watching our grass grow, and laying down a brick pathway to our front door. OK, it’s still not all the way done, but we’ll finish it today, even if I have to pay my nephew to hold an umbrella over me. Here’s a pic of it the the early stage. We used old recycled bricks that we spend the previous weekend loading into the truck by hand, under the blazing sun, for hours and hours.

We discovered while we were outside so much that we actually have a rather basic gap in our tech collection. A portable stereo. Or I’m sure as Mike would prefer, a portable iPod compatible stereo. For the meantime, this will have to do.
