Not going to be listing this on craigslist in a year…

Mike and I bought an ellitical machine last night at Sears. We’d been talking about it for awhile - with the days getting shorter and darker and colder, it’s harder to get enough exercise. Especially for me, as I don’t have a gym at my work, unless you count chasing kids around all day. We decided an elliptical would be a good choice because it’s a quick cardio workout and requires your whole body to participate (unlike recumbant bikes, which I’ve always liked because I can read while exercising… so lazy).

We got it home and after a measly two and a half hours had it assembled. No thanks to Sears or whoever took our manual - thank God for the internet, as we were able to download one. I kept cracking up at all the instructions that read “this step requires two persons”. First of all, I can’t stand grammar that bad, second of all, I kept thinking - what if you lived by yourself? What if none of your friends were near? Or they were busy? What if you didn’t HAVE friends? You’d never get your elliptical assembled!

So here’s my “End of the Year Resolution” to exercise MORE (not specifying how many days a week, because that never works out) now that I have an elliptical machine. Come shorts season, I will be fit and toned! Or as Mike put it, I’ll have “buns like a lazy Jessica Biel”.
