Peace and Joy
You hear a lot on the radio these days about politically correct holiday greetings - Merry Christmas is too specific, even Happy Holidays assumes one celebrates holidays. I personally love Christmas and the Christmas season and don’t see the need to get overly zealous with the whole PC thing… Just don’t assume everyone has the same traditions or beliefs as you. Though for me Christmas is not really religious in nature - for me it represents love, and family and friends and thoughtfulness and giving. And food. And traditions, like my dad’s homemade famous fudge, and Christmas lights that stay lit in North Idaho until February (very anti-gloom), and hiding presents in never to be found places, and trying to go to sleep on Christmas Eve and getting up early and destroying careful wrapping jobs. Although this year Mike and I started a new tradition and used hand decorated paper gift bags that can be recycled year after year!
In somewhat snide honor of PC holiday-ness, I have come up with a “December” greeting that no one can find offense with. And if you can, perhaps you’re a war-mongering grumpypants.
And so I wish you,
Peace and Joy!!!
